Due to COVID19 social distancing requirements we have limited seating available especially on Friday and Saturday nights which are very popular. It is essential that you book over the phone to reserve a table.
There are two seating times on Friday and Saturday:
We do not charge for corkage on BYO wine but we do charge for bottled water. We do not offer tap water.
Any of the items on our menu can be ordered for takeaway so that you can enjoy it straight away at home or store in the fridge or freezer for the next day.
Passion, love, family and food could simply describe The Etna. Orazio and Lauretta have poured their lives into creating food and an experience for their loyal following and new customers alike.
It all started with two brothers from Sicily who don’t just cook food but live it. They started a small humble Italian restaurant with no idea how much people would love their food and restaurant atmosphere… so The Etna was born.
The Etna name and fine Italian food goes back to 1973, when Orazio Marchese and brother Mario Marchese opened the Etna Restaurant, which moved to King Street, Newcastle, in 1978 and now has a new location to cater for the Italian restaurant’s popularity in Darby St, Newcastle.
The Etna is known for the generosity of portions, incredible flavour and friendly atmosphere.
While the Italian restaurant is mainly a la carte, a takeaway service and bistro food is also available.
The Etna offers incredible Italian cuisine, including seafood, pasta and a varied menu to cater for any palette.
For us proof is in the pasta so we look forward to serving you our food and the original Etna experience.
